Practicum education is pivotal to launching competent professional social workers. It consists of hands-on experience in a placement setting and a corresponding seminar course.
The practicum placement process and placement assignment is both directed by and requires approval from the Practicum Education Department.
We recognize practicum is a significant time commitment for students during the academic year, however, due to placement availability hours are expected to occur during the daytime. For students who are currently full-time employees, we can review employment-based placement proposals when new learning opportunities & appropriate supervision are available. We will review for approval if it meets educational requirements.
