Campus Pride Committee Mission Statement
The mission of the Campus Pride Committee at Westfield State University is to improve visibility and support for LGBTQIA students and employees by identifying and training a network of allies who are sensitive and affirmative to the needs of the LGBTQIA community. Through education and programming, advocacy, and awareness, these allies will be empowered to speak out against homophobia and transphobia, confront heterosexist assumptions, and promote a safe and supportive environment for all members of the University community. We aim to improve WSU’s climate by fostering a vision that is aware of, engaged with, and appreciative of issues related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
