The Bandana Project
What is The Bandana Project? The Bandana Project is a national mental health awareness and suicide prevention campaign. This program works against the societal stigma associated with mental illness and creates more supportive communities.
How does it work? A trained and supervised student volunteer will have a green bandana worn on a piece of their clothing (often it's tied to a bag). This represents the Bandana Project and signifies that the person is safe for students to approach and talk with if they need support or resources. If a student volunteer is wearing a bandana, then that means they have mental health-related resources available, have taken The Bandana Project pledge, and have been empowering and supporting others in getting help and making it easier for others to have conversations about mental health.
